Who Will Be the Starting QB For the 49ers in 2022
Though there were talks of trading Jimmy Garoppolo, it now appears he will be starting for the 49ers in Week 1.
In the NFC Championship game versus their division rivals, the Los Angeles Rams, Garoppolo threw for 232 yards as well as two touchdowns, however, a costly turnover to Travin Howard in the final two minutes resulted in a 20–17 loss.
Garoppolo was expected to resume throwing in early July as he was nursing an injured shoulder.
What Are the 49ers Odds for 2022-23
If you are planing on betting NFL futures from California, the 49ers come into this season at 16-1 odds of winning the 2023 Super Bowl.
Ben Linsey of Pro Football Focus believes the 49ers offensive line could be questionable this season.
"San Francisco's interior offensive line will have to replace Laken Tomlinson at left guard after he followed Robert Saleh to the Jets in free agency," wrote Linsey. "Alex Mack's retirement after 13 NFL seasons opens up another hole at center. Given that right guard — manned by Daniel Brunskill and his 57.1 PFF grade in 2021 — was already the weak point of their offensive line last season, that's three potential unknowns and question marks on the inside."
