2026 Has Been the Year of the Jackpot in Biloxi Mississippi.....Here's Why....

BILOXI, Miss (Gambling911.com) - Two more big jackpots hit as Biloxi Mississippi casinos this past week.  And if you've been following Gambling911.com in recent months, it's becoming pretty clear this was no fluke.

South Mississippi casinos already paid out more $100,000-plus jackpots by July than all of last year.

A jaw-dropping 37 jackpots totaling $7.1 million have hit since January, compared to 31 for all of 2025.

23 of those hit at the Beau Rivage, which is close to double that from last year (13).

The most recent jackpots included a $111,750.74 jackpot won by an Alice, Texas resident who bet $50 on a $1 denomination Phoenix Link General Tso slot machine.

That guest was playing 24 minutes before winning on Monday, Aug. 21.

A day earlier, on Sunday, Aug. 20, at 6:03 p.m., Christopher (a last name was not provided) was visiting the IP Casino Resort in Biloxi and playing Mississippi Stud. He was dealt a spade royal flush (ace through 10 of spades), and his $1 side bet turned the hand into a payday nearly identical to that won by the Alice, Texas gambler,  $112,821.

Another gambler won a $113,772 jackpot at this casino playing on a Lightning Cash High Stakes slot machine just two weeks prior.

So why so many jackpots being won at Southern Mississippi casinos compared to last year?

No, the machines have not been altered to enhance winnings.  It's actually all about volume.  More people are gambling here and at larger denominations.

The Beau Rivage actually flies in players to the nearby Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport from seven cities every night.

Speaking of Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport, as of August 2026, GPT has nonstop scheduled service to 8 U.S. destinations on five airlines. Current schedules amount to roughly 422 arriving flights per month — about 98 per week or 14 arrivals per day.

The most interesting development is Breeze Airways' expansion at Gulfport. Breeze now sells nonstop GPT flights to Las Vegas, Orlando and Tampa, giving the Mississippi Gulf Coast more leisure-oriented service that bypasses the traditional Atlanta/Dallas/Houston connections.

GPT isn't an insignificant airport anymore. It handled 868,419 passengers in 2025, up from 847,877 in 2024. Through May 2026 it had handled 358,316 passengers, up 2.0% year over year.
