The Return of Longshot Williams?

Serena Williams is back in action after a year-long absence from professional tennis.

She may be ranked 1,024th in the world, but oddsmakers haven't made her as much of a longshot as the numbers might otherwise suggest.  Williams would pay out $2500 on a $100 bet.

"When Williams was granted the wild-card entry, it certainly impacted our odds," Dave Mason, Brand Manager at BetOnline.ag, said. "The top tier wasn't adjusted too greatly, but we had to plug in her into that second tier of favorites, which trickled down throughout the field. At the end of the day, Serena is one of the most dominant athletes of all time, in her particular sport, and like a LeBron James type, you can't ever count them out."

Iga Swiatek is an overwhelming +190 favorite, with Ons Jabeur second on the board at +900. American Cori "Coco" Gauff is third on the board with +1400 odds.

On the men's side, Novak Djokovic is the odds-on favorite at -115.
