PITCHING MATCHUP: Athletics LH Brett Anderson (11-9, 4.08 ERA) vs. Astros RH Jose Urquidy (1-1, 5.33)

Anderson will establish a new career high for victories should he post another win this season. The 31-year-old escaped with a no-decision in his last turn after yielding five runs - three earned - and eight hits over five innings against the Los Angeles Angels. Anderson lost to the Astros on Aug. 18, when he allowed four runs and seven hits over five frames, and is 1-5 with a 6.68 ERA in seven career appearances (six starts) versus the club.

Urquidy will make his sixth start and seventh appearance of the campaign. The 24-year-old rookie settled for a no-decision against Seattle in his last turn after permitting one run and two hits over four innings. Urquidy has registered 24 strikeouts and issued just five walks in 27 frames but has served up five home runs.

The Athletics are 22-5 in their last 27 after allowing 5 runs or more in their previous game and  8-1 in Anderson’s last 9 road starts.

The Astros are 21-5 in their last 26 home games vs. a left-handed starter.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
