Betting Preview (April 17, 2021)

The Giants are off to a hot start, entering Saturday's game of this series with an 8-5 record.  They lost the first game in this series Friday but continued the UNDER trend with 6 straight, which followed six straight OVERs.

The Marlins had won five of their last six games overall following a sluggish start and own a 6-7 record entering Saturday's game.

Saturday April 17 - The Marlins start Sandy Alcantara (0-1, 2.45 ERA). Alcantara is 0-1 with a 1.32 ERA in three career appearances against the Giants, including two starts.

This year, Alcantara has produced three straight quality starts, but he has yet to get support from Miami's offense.

Giants right-hander Aaron Sanchez (0-1, 2.70 ERA) has also been unable to come up with the run support despite some strong pitching.

Sanchez made his only career start against the Marlins in 2018 when he allowed five runs in 4.1 innings while pitching for the Toronto Blue Jays.  He will only be facing three Marlins who were playing at that time.

Miami is a -130 favorite, San Francisco is at +118.  There was a steady total of 7.5.

Only nine of the Giants last ten games have gone OVER 7.  The Marlins have had 6 games stay UNDER this total.
