Great news California!  TVG is available from your state, as are other top online racebooks, including those offering up to 9% on losses back

Residents of the following states are NOT eligible for a TVG account due to state regulations include: Alabama, Alaska, Georgia, Hawaii, Kansas, Maine, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Wisconsin, and the District of Columbia.

There are some unique rules related to betting on the TVG website that do not necessarily apply to BetOnline.  More specifically, California residents are required to enable location services in order to wager on a mobile device.

California offers an abundance of horse racing venues, most notably Delmar, which sometimes plays host to the Breeders Cup.  The Santa Anita Derby is a prep race for the Kentucky Derby and is held in California.

TVG is owned by FanDuel Group, the U.S. subsidiary of British bookmaker Flutter Entertainment.

Horse Profile: Santa Anita Winner Practical Move

Practical Move was listed early with 10-1 odds and was the winner of California Kentucky Derby prep race, the Santa Anita Derby.

He also finished first in his previous race, the Grade II San Felipe.

Since its inception, ten Santa Anita Derby winners have gone on to win the Kentucky Derby.

Trainer Tim Yakteen was comfortable breezing Practical Move and his other entry Reincarnate at Santa Anita on Friday morning, the day before having them flown to Louisville.

Practical Move went five furlongs in 59.6 seconds Friday.

Horse Racing Nation notes a common denominator Practical Move's three consecutive victories with jockey Ramón Vázquez.  That would be a rail trip. Practical Move saved ground each time, and that might have made the nose difference three weeks ago.

“I think it’s a great education,” Yakteen said. “Horses aren’t always as comfortable running down on the inside. That makes me feel really confident. I’m confident he’ll be able to run around horses as much as he has run on the inside of horses.”
