TwinSpires initiated a lawsuit on the basis that a state amendment violated the Commerce Clause of the US Constitution. The lawsuit was dismissed and TwinSpires stopped accepting wagers from Texans in 2013.   Other websites, BetUS included, were more than happy to fill the void left behind.
