Louisville Cardinals at Pittsburgh Panthers Betting: Pitt Gets Off to 3-0 Start

For the second week in a row, the No. 24 Louisville Cardinals played a ranked matchup as they faced the No. 21 Pittsburgh Panthers on the road.  And for the second straight week, they managed to lose. Ahead of this game, the Cardinals dropped six spots after losing at home to then-No. 17 Miami by 13 in their ACC opener last Saturday.  The Cards lost to Pittsburgh 20-23.

These conference foes hadn't  met since 2015 when the Panthers won at home 54-34. Louisville won in Pittsburgh in 2012, their first road win in the series since 2006. All-time, Pittsburgh now leads the series 10-8 as they have met in both the ACC and Big East. 

Louisville Cardinals Betting Outlook: Get Off to a Good Start 

Louisville is now 1-2 on the season with a 35-21 win over Western Kentucky and the 47-34 loss to Miami. Of the 52 teams that have played at least one game prior to this week, Louisville ranked 43rd in scoring defense at 34.0 points per game.

The Panthers are 3-0 for the first time since 2016 after beating FBS Austin Peay 55-0, Syracuse 21-10 and now a ranked Louisville. Pat Narduzzi’s squad is 17th in the nation at 38.0 points per game, and the defense is sixth, allowing just 5.0 points per game.

The Panthers are now 7-2 at home in their last nine games and have covered six of the last eight meetings against Louisville.  The Panthers managed a push in this game.
