Republican Senate Speaker Randy McNally told reporters Thursday that he prefers waiting until all nine members of a new regulatory board are appointed before it establishes parameters for Tennessee sports betting. The law officially took effect July 1.

McNally and ex-GOP House Speaker Glen Casada have both appointed two of three board picks each. McNally voted against sports betting. Casada voted for it.

Republican Gov. Bill Lee hasn't appointed any of his three selections. Lee voiced opposition to additional gambling and let the bill become law without his signature. He said he's been given a wide selection of names and isn't slowing down the process.
