Thousand Words was the winner of the Shared Belief Stakes, his most recent showing on August 1.

This entry has performed well with just one outlier, the Oaklawn Stakes (finishing 11th).

Prior to the 1st place finish at the Shared Belief Stakes, Thousand Words came in 2nd at the Los Alamitos Derby-G3.

The Shared Belief Stakes race was worth 50 Kentucky Derby qualifying point.  He managed to beat 1-5 favorite Honor A.P by three-quarters of a length.

“I think (Thousand Words) earned his way to the Derby,” said trainer Bob Baffert following the final Kentucky Derby prep race.  This was Baffert's record 135th stakes win at Del Mar.

“He ran well, but we’re disappointed he didn’t win,” Smith said of Honor A.P., trained by John Shirreffs. “I haven’t been able to get on him in the mornings and I think that’s made a difference. He’s just been going along there not doing much in the mornings.

“I need to be on him and get more out of him. But that’s the way it is now. That’s just the way it is. The (Shared Belief) distance is too short for him, too. Just not his day.”

Can't Bet on Twinspires.com From Mississippi

Despite it being among the very first states to legalize sports betting following the US Supreme Court decision to abolish decades of prohibition in 2018, Mississippi still doesn't allow mobile sports wagering....and that includes betting on the Kentucky Derby.  As such, TwinSpires.com is not available here.

Can't Bet the Kentucky Derby With Twinspires From My State

TwinSpires is available from most US states.  Those states where the app is not available mostly do not feature any of the competition either.  BetOnline is available in states where TwinSpires is not for those 18 and up with two exceptions, New Jersey and Nevada.
