The Chicago Cubs enter the new week 8-2 over their last ten games and 33-23 overall, definitely causing the books fits.

They just finished their best week of the year.

It included masterful pitching from ace Jon Lester, timely hitting without sluggers Kris Bryant and Anthony Rizzo and an element of surprise that made a 6-1 trip extremely enjoyable.

“There are games we could have lost that we won,” Maddon said Sunday after a 2-0 victory that completed a four-game sweep of the Mets. “That’s what you should be saying when you’re good. When you break it down, it went in your favor because you did those little things well. That’s what we’re talking about. That’s what gets you over the top.”

It may not get much better for the books as Chicago prepares to take on Philadelphia starting Tuesday.  They have won four of the last six meetings and nine of the last thirteen.  Only one of those four Phillies victories was on the road.

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
