Two of the most successful MLB franchises over the past few years clash this weekend for a three-game set in our Nation’s Capital. The Los Angeles Dodgers will square off against the Washington Nationals starting with a featured online sports betting matchup on MLB Network at Nationals Park this Friday night in a slated 7:05 p.m. (ET) start. The Dodgers have not played up to expectations with a 17-26 record through their first 43 games. Thursday’s 7-0 shutout against Miami as -163 road favorites snapped a six-game skid as part of a 2-9 record in their last 11 games. Check out the MLB Friday “Best Bet” Parlay Betting Plays at PlaySlots4RealMoney.com. Washington’s last two games against the New York Yankees were postponed due to rain following a four-game sweep against Arizona last weeked. The Nationals have overcome a slow start out of the gate with a 13-2 record over the last 15 games to move just two games back of Atlanta in the NL East at 24-18.

Game 1- Friday 7:05 p.m.

Los Angeles- Ross Stripling (R) vs. Washington- Max Scherzer (R)

Stripling has made three previous starts this season while also pitching out of the bullpen. He got the start against Cincinnati last Saturday and he held the Reds to two runs on six hits over 5 1/3 innings in the Dodgers’ 5-3 loss as -169 home favorites. Washington has been opened as a heavy -211 favorite for Friday night with Scherzer on the mound and for good reason. The staff ace is 7-1 this season through nine starts and his ERA stands at 1.69 with a 0.82 WHIP.

Game 2- Saturday 7:05 p.m.

Los Angeles- Rich Hill (L) vs. Tanner Roark (R)

Through Hill’s first five starts this MLB betting season, he is 1-2 with a shaky 6.20 ERA and an inflated 1.74 WHIP. The Dodgers have gone just 1-4 with the lefty on the online Sportsbook betting mound. Last Sunday against the Reds, he lasted 5 2/3 innings and gave up two earned runs on six hits in LA’s 5-3 loss as a -150 home favorite.Roark went seven innings against Arizona on May 10 in the Nationals’ 2-1 victory as +130 road underdogs. He allowed just one earned run on four hits to lower his ERA on the year to 3.33 with a 1.01 WHIP. Washington is just 3-5 this season with Roark as its starter.

Game 3- Sunday 1:35 p.m.

Los Angeles- Alex Wood (L) vs. Stephen Strasburg (R)

Wood is penciled in as the Dodgers’ starter for Sunday’s finale and he is still looking for his first win of the year against four losses. The lefty has pitched well with a 3.35 ERA and a 1.06 WHIP over his first nine starts with Los Angeles going 4-5 during this same span of games. With three wins in his last three starts, Strasburg moved to 5-3 overall. He gave up just one earned run on five hits through 6 2/3 innings pitched in Washington’s 2-1 victory against Arizona last Saturday as -174 road favorites. His ERA on the year is now 3.28 with a 1.03 WHIP.

Series Betting Pick

There will be a steep series price on Washington in this matchup, but the risk is worth the reward with the clear edge on the mound going to the Nationals in two of the three games.
