Top Major League Baseball Exposures - April 28: Diamondbacks

The Arizona Diamondbacks were seeing some good action as a +113 dog after opening at +126 at some books.  The line move makes sense as books appear anxious to get more money on the favorite Washington.

70% of the early action was on the Diamondbacks money line.   They have won four of the last ten games in this series.

Something here doesn't compute, however.

Diamondbacks LH Patrick Corbin (4-0, 1.89 ERA) has a flawless record thus far this season compared to Nationals RH Jeremy Hellickson (0-0, 4.50).

Each of Corbin's opponents thus far have been from the National League West and the 28-year-old has held them to a .140 average.

Hellickson is making his third start since joining the Nationals' rotation, his first at home in a Washington uniform and the 200th of his career. He allowed three runs in 5 1/3 innings in a no-decision at the Los Angeles Dodgers on Sunday.  He is 0-3 against Arizona with a 5.32 ERA.

Arizona is 12-27 in the last 39 meetings.

The line move points to a pit of trepidation on the bookmakers part but this one doesn't pass the smell test so we'll be staying clear.

Baseball News

Chris Paddack Player Prop Bets

Paddack recorded 10 strikeouts over seven shutout innings on Monday in a win over the White Sox. Prior to that start, Paddack was obliterated by the Orioles, allowing nine runs on 12 hits in 5 1/3 innings.

Zach Eflin Player Prop Bets

Zach Eflin has great value in fantasy leagues for the April 26 game against the lowly Chicago White Sox.  Betting on Eflin and the Tampa Bay Rays might make sense if not for the -210 price tag.

Trevor Williams Player Prop Bets

The Nats Trevor Williams held the Astros to one run with four strikeouts across six innings in a no-decision on Saturday.  And the betting public was eating him up at a near 80% clip.
