The Bills sit at No. 4 on the Sagarin Ratings yet their path to the post season is not as simple as things may seem.  As of December 31, the Bills promised a payout of $1100 for every $100 bet with a 2014 Super Bowl win.

The Bills may no longer be the dominant team heading into Sunday's game but there remain 14 clinching scenarios, all requiring a win or tie, that gets Buffalo into the post season. The Bills would then need help from at least two other teams in each scenario.

Let's not fool ourselves though.  The Bills control their own destiny.  They currently have a 90% chance of making the playoffs this season.  They can even still win the AFC East with a 20% chance.

In this scenario, Miami would need to lose their last two games.  The Dolphins have the daunting task of trying to beat Baltimore this week then face the Bills next week, so this one actually could work for Buffalo.

The Bills have a huge advantage in the NFL playoff tiebreakers thanks to their Week 4 victory over the Dolphins up in Buffalo.  A tie would actually land Buffalo's way in Week 18.

Bills coach Sean McDermott's only focus in Week 17 is on New England (4-11), which beat Buffalo 29-25 earlier this season.

"I think you learn a lot going through any game, let alone in this case a loss like it was several weeks ago," McDermott said. "They're a good football team. ... The NFL is up for grabs every week. Records do not matter."

J.J. McCarthy Drafted Number 3 Odds to Patriots

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
