Clemson Tigers Early Outlook

A number of prediction outlets have Clemson losing no more than two regular season games.  Athlon is one such media outlet that predicts a 10-2 regular season finish for the Tigers.  They point to having enough raw talent on their roster but consistency could be an issue.  Losing three games last season resulted in the firing of longtime staffer and friend Brandon Streeter by head coach Dabo Swinney.

Clemson is in Trouble

This was Clemson's game to win as FSU never once led.

After the game was tied, Clemson had a chance to take a late lead with 1:47 left in the fourth quarter, but Jonathan Weitz, a graduate student who left the team before the season only to return this week after the Tigers had issues in the kicking game, missed a 29-yard try wide left.

“When I hit it, I thought I hit it good,” Weitz said. “When I looked up, it’s dying left.”

FSU ended up winning in overtime.

FSU Seminoles @ Clemson Tigers Week 4

The Tigers have won their last two after being defeated by the Blue Devils in Week 1.  Duke came into that game as a +12 dog.

The Tigers have won seven in a row against the Seminoles with five won by double digits but the public was loving the Noles in this one as they had better than 75% of the support on the spread.

FSU opened as a +3 dog vs. Clemson but that was prior to this season.  They were coming in as the -2.5 here after starting the week as a PICK'EM.  Clemson is a rare home dog.

As a home team since 2018, Clemson is 41-1 Straight Up.

Clemson Tigers @ Duke Blue Devils Week 1

Remarkably, Clemson was the most wagered on side by the public despite playing in the final game of Week 1 on Monday night.  The line has moved a half point up from -13 to -13.5 as a result.

The Tigers will enter the 2023 season ranked No. 9 in the nation and a slight favorite to win the Atlantic Coast Conference over FSU.

Duke starting quarterback Riley Leonard is unlikely to be a pushover here as he helped guide the Blue Devils to a 9-4 victory last season.

Blue Devils WR Jalon Calhoun last season made 62 catches for 873 yards and four touchdowns.

Clemson QB Cade Klubnik replaced starter D.J. Uiagalelei early in the ACC title game last season and led Clemson to a 39-10 win over North Carolina.

Duke enters this game with a 10-61-4 record against top 10 opponents in The Associated Press college football poll.

Gambling911.com gets a line of 12.61, suggesting the current line is on the money.
