Monday night (June 19), Dana White announced that a pivotal bantamweight matchup will be added to the UFC 292 lineup in August.

Former champ Henry Cejudo will take on Marlon "Chito" Vera in a bout that could propel the victor to a fight against the winner of Aljamain Sterling vs. Sean O'Malley, which is headlining the event at TD Garden.

Both have verbally agreed to the fight though nothing is yet in writing. Vera has accepted the challenge after losing to Cory Sandhagen.

SportsBetting.ag released odds for Cejudo vs. Vera on Tuesday morning, opening Cejudo as a -220 favorite and Vera coming back as the +175 underdog. But early bettors are backing the chalk so the odds have shifted toward Cejudo.

Fight Odds

Marlon Vera +235

Henry Cejudo -300

For the feature fight, Sterling remains a heavy, -270 favorite against O'Malley (+230).

There is one small problem.  Cejudo claims to have a compromised shoulder.

“I like that fight [against Marlon Vera],” Cejudo said, according to the post. “But, obviously I do have an injury and I don’t even know where my injuries are coming from honestly. Maybe it’s a little bit of that old age. But I do gotta get my right shoulder checked up. In other words, there is a slight tear in my right shoulder.”
