The Best Costume Design odds at the 2009 Oscars had The Duchess as a slight favorite over the Curious Case of Benjamin Button at Sportsinteraction.com.

The Duchess required a $19 bet to win $10 ($29 total would be paid out if the film wins in this category).  The Curious Case of Benjamin Button would pay out $16 and some change for every $10 bet.

The other three nominees pay the big bucks.  If you were to bet $10 on Australia to win Best Costume Design at the 2009 Oscars, the payout would be $200.   Milk pays $1800 while Revolutionary Road pays a whopping $660 for every $10 bet.

"This one falls under ‘obscure' category that oddsmakers may not have a true handle on so that factor is something to consider when placing a bet," explains Payton O'Brien, Senior Editor of Gambling911.com.  "These bookies just assume any film with the word ‘Duchess' in it deserves to be made the favorite for ‘Best Costume' but this might be a category where the Academy thinks they can pass one over to Curious Case of Benjamin Button as a way of ensuring that film is not snubbed completely."

Michael O'Connor designed the 18th-century period outfits in The Duchess while Jacqueline West is nominated for the Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

The Oscars is traditionally the 3rd most bet on event of the year in terms of single day affairs (as opposed to another heavily waged on event, March Madness, covering a few weeks).  The Best Costume Design will probably receive the fewest number of wagers, however.
