2010 NFL Draft

The online gambling websites hope to cash in on this week's 2010 NFL Draft and, in particular, the new three day schedule.

Hollywood Sportsbook.com was now offering an extensive list of 2010 NFL Draft betting odds, with specific options for the following players:

Jimmy Clausen

Eric Berry

Russell Okung

Trent Williams

Dez Bryant

Joe Haden

CJ Spiller

Bryan Bulaga

"Along with the NBA and NHL Playoffs, the books are hoping for additional profit potential with the NFL Draft and an extra day to do so," says Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.

These events lead up to May 1 "Biblical Betting Bonanza" with the Kentucky Derby and headline boxing match between Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Shane Mosley.

"This could prove to be the biggest betting day in online gambling history," remarked Shapiro.

The Associated Press had this to say about the new schedule:

"Although the dilemma of trading up to grab an enticing prospect or moving down to add more selections always has existed, the revamped structure for the seven rounds adds another element to decision making: time.

"Teams now will have 18 hours or more to contemplate second-round choices in what is considered the strongest draft crop in years - particularly in the second and third rounds."

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
