The San Diego Chargers are laying a touchdown on the road on Sunday against the Oakland Raiders. It looks like a mismatch as the San Diego Chargers come into this game at 4-1 while the Oakland Raiders are 0-4 but it is worth noting that the Oakland Raiders have a new coach now in Tony Sparano and they are coming off a bye. And keep in mind that the underdog in this series has covered the NFL betting odds in 9 of the last 10 meetings.

The Raiders may not be a good football team but they have a new mindset and some real optimism heading into this game.

New head coach Tony Sparano has the team thinking the right way.

“This is all about being new right now,” Sparano said. “We put four games behind us today and we’re not going to look back. Once we’re done with this self-analysis here, we are looking ahead at 12 football games. We are not looking behind.”

The players have been encouraged with the approach Sparano has taken.

“His mindset is focused on moving forward, and that’s the focus we all need to have,” defensive end LaMarr Woodley said. “When you’re 0-4, you have to hit the reset button.”

San Diego is getting the most action of any side this weekend so Oakland’s failure to cover the spread will most certain hurt the books bottom line.
