Colts vs. Bills Betting Line – Week 1

The Colts vs. Bills betting line for 2015 Week 1 had Buffalo as a +2.5 home favorite.  There is some uncertainty as to who the Bills starting quarterback will be with Matt Cassel slated to take on that role early.

Are the Colts really a viable contender in 2015.  Kevin Bowen of Colts.com answers that question:

To put it simply, yes, the Colts are “serious” Super Bowl contenders in 2015. From a general progression standpoint and what occurred in the offseason (throughout the AFC), the Colts deserve mention among the AFC’s top teams. I’ve said this in prior mailbags, but I don’t really see any team running away with the conference this year. The AFC North is extremely competitive, perhaps the closest division, 1-to-4, of any in the NFL. The AFC East was very active from the challengers behind New England. In the AFC West, Denver is getting acclimated to a new coaching staff. It wouldn’t surprise me at all if records of 12-4 and maybe 11-5 were good enough to get a bye. I see the Colts being in that mix.

The Colts are listed as -550 favorites to win the AFC South, hardly worth betting.

Even the regular season wins total might not be worth it with Indianapolis likely to go OVER 10.5 but are priced at -165.

Their odds of winning the 2016 Super Bowl were coming in at 8/1.

Buffalo probably won’t win the AFC East with New England coming back off their Super Bowl win regardless of whether Tom Brady sits out four games or not.

They are favorites to win 8 or fewer games in 2015 with a price of -155.  If you think this Bills team can win 9 or more regular season games, go for it at +125.

Xavier Worthy = Tyreek Hill 2.0?  Perhaps, and if that comes to fruition at any point in the future, the Bills only have themselves to blame.
