Tom Brady Testifying Under Oath to Appeal Suspension: Pats Odds Off Board

(Gambling911.com Sports Wire) – As Tom Brady begins testifying under oath as to his role “Deflategate”, oddsmakers have removed season win totals odds on the New England Patriots.

Brady was given a four-game suspension to start the 2015 NFL regular season.  His presence is seen as affecting the potential regular season wins by as much as three games (with the Jaguars playing in New England still seen as winnable with or without Brady).

NFL executive vice president Troy Vincent informed Brady he would be suspended for the four games as the Wells report "established that there is substantial and credible evidence to conclude [Brady was] at least generally aware of the actions of the Patriots' employees involved in the deflation of the footballs and that it was unlikely that their actions were done without [his] knowledge."

There is no set timetable as to when a final decision will be made.  The appeal is expected to last no more than two days with Thursday set aside should more time be needed after Tuesday.

Whatever happens it is all in NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell's hands.  If Goodell doesn't vacate the suspension and exonerate Brady, the quarterback could decide to continue the fight in court. Or Brady could accept whatever Goodell decides and end the fight altogether.

Regular season win total betting odds were likely to remain off the board during this process though books could, from time to time, entice future bettors with odds.

To be clear, the Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy is pretty certain to land in Minnesota.  But what if the New England Patriots shock us and pick McCarthy at Number 3 before the Vikings get their opportunity at No. 5?
