Resident bookmaking expert Tony Caliente discusses Sunday’s NFL game between the Bucs and Falcons.

It’s critical that Atlanta wins here as this is a highly competitive division, with the Bucs being the one exception.

A one game threshold separates the division leading Saints from the Panthers with one game separating Carolina from Atlanta.

With a division game we should always examine recent history between the two teams as 10 meetings will cover a five year span.

It’s a split in terms of 10 year wins and losses between Atlanta and Carolina. Over the last five years Tampa Bay is 3-2 Straight Up.  Over the last five years Tampa Bay is 4-1 Against The Spread using the current number of 10.5 (still available at some books).  Tampa’s two double digit losses in that period were at home.

Under normal circumstances the line should be Falcons -7 but we do need to factor in injuries on the Bucs side.

Bet365 is one of the books that has held pat at -10 throughout the week.

Tough game to bet on indeed.
