Paddy Power Racist ‘Immigrants Jump in the Back’ Ad Banned

Controversial Irish bookmaker Paddy Power is at it again with yet another ad that has drawn the ire of the UK’s Advertising Standards Authority (ASA).

Ad: Open an Online Betting Account Today at AceSportsbook.  Receive Next Day Payouts and Hundreds of Dollars in Signup Bonuses Here

From the Irish Examiner:

The ad, featured heavily on social media, included pictures of sports stars Andy Murray, Raheem Sterling, Mo Farah, Manu Tualigi, and Eoin Morgan on a truck side.

The truck was sent to the French port of Calais at the height of the migrant crisis, and caused considerable negative reaction.

The ASA concluded the ad to be “offensive, racist, in poor taste and exploitive”.

Paddy claimed it was meant to be a satirical joke in respect of Britain’s leading sportsmen ahead of Andy Murray’s second round match at the 2015 Wimbledon Championship.
