PokerStars Parent Company Amaya Acquires Daily Fantasy Sports Site Victiv

Amaya Gaming announced Friday morning it has acquired Austin, Texas-based Daily Fantasy Sports site Victiv.com, a company that itself was founded by former poker players.

Victiv, considered a mid-tier Daily Fantasy Sports site until now, will become a major player in the DFS sector with immediate access to PokerStars hundreds of thousands of current customers, including a large chunk based in the U.S. who have been prohibited from playing since 2011.

The site will be re-branded as StarsDraft.com.

“StarsDraft (www.StarsDraft.com) will combine Victiv’s innovative platform and experienced DFS team with Amaya’s expansive consumer base and operational excellence as the world’s preeminent online gaming brand,” said Matthew Primeaux, CEO of Victiv. “We intend to capitalize on what we believe is strong crossover between online poker players and daily fantasy sports. PokerStars is the most-trusted brand in online gaming and brings unmatched security, customer support and technical infrastructure that we believe all players can rely on.”
