2015 Kentucky Derby Betting Picks, Predictions

Gambling911.com has your 2015 Kentucky Derby betting picks and predictions courtesy of our friends at BetDSI.com.

The horse is the best one sired so far by 2008 Kentucky Derby winner Big Brown. The horse is trained by Bob Baffert and he looked good in winning the Los Alamitos Futurity.

This horse is by champion Afleet Alex who won the Preakness and Belmont in 2005. The horse is trained by Keith Desormeaux. The horse won the 2014 Breeders’ Cup Juvenile.

American Pharoah

This horse is another trained by Bob Baffert. The sire of the horse is Pioneer of the Nile who finished second in the Kentucky Derby six years ago and so far so good for Pioneer of the Nile who has gotten off to a great start at stud with a number of top horses.

Carpe Diem

This horse should have no trouble with the distance as he is the son of Giant Causeway. He is trained by Todd Pletcher.

Prospect Park

One of the horses that could challenge Dortmund in the 2015 Kentucky Derby is Prospect Park. The horse has a solid pedigree, a good trainer in Clifford Sise and a jockey in Kent Desormeaux who knows how to win.

Far From Over

One of the possible contenders to win the 2015 Kentucky Derby is Far From Over. The horse was very impressive in defeating El Kabeir in the Withers and he has the closing style that could do well in the Triple Crown races.

Firing Line

One of the contenders to win the 2015 Kentucky Derby on Saturday, May 2nd is Firing Line. The horse finished second in the Robert B. Lewis Stakes to Kentucky Derby betting favorite Dortmund at Santa Anita Park.

International Star

International Star is by Fusaichi Pegasus who won the 2000 Kentucky Derby. The horse is trained by Mike Maker and he comes into this race well prepared having raced 9 times with 5 wins. The one negative is that no Louisiana Derby winner has won the Kentucky Derby in almost 20 years.

Materiality

Materiality won the Florida Derby to qualify for the 2015 Kentucky Derby. The one big negative for Materiality is that no horse has been unraced at two years old and won the Kentucky Derby since Apollo in 1882.

Mubtaahij

Mubtaahij is coming off an extremely impressive win in the U.A.E. Derby. There is no question that Mubtaahij can handle the distance of the Kentucky Derby but how he handles the travel and the track at Churchill Downs are the big questions.

Upstart

The pedigree for Upstart is an interesting one as Upstart is by Flatter who won four of six starts. Flatter was not a stakes winner but the horse has a great pedigree as he is a full brother to Grade 2-winning sire Congrats who is the son of A.P. Indy and the Mr. Prospector mare Praise.

El Kabeir

El Kabeir is the son of Scat Daddy who won the 2007 Florida Derby. Scat Daddy did not race well in the Kentucky Derby that year due to injury as he finished 18th. Scat Daddy was retired after that race due to injury. Scat Daddy has sired No Nay Never, El Bromista and Solaria along with Lady of Shamrock.

Frosted

The pedigree for Frosted is solid as he is by leading sire Tapit and out of the dam Fast Cookie who is from Deputy Minister. The second dam is Fleet Lady, from champion Carnauba. Tapit won the Wood Memorial and is the son of Pulpit.
