Jim Erwood leaves Poker Royalty to join the Lock Family

Jim Erwood has joined the Lock Poker family after leaving Poker Royalty.

Jim graduated in 1998 from Manchester Metropolitan University with a BA Honors degree in Business Sport & Recreation and comes from an agency background working previously with sports celebrities & as a licensed FIFA agent representing soccer stars and negotiating player contracts before joining Poker Royalty in 2008 as their Director of European Operations. Working with this prestigious company has put him into contact with hundreds of poker players at many events across the globe.  His experiences have provided him with an intimate understanding of the ever shifting poker industry and he brings to Lock a unique perspective on the business of poker and a catalogue of experience working on player sponsorship deals.

"Jim has a wealth of knowledge, passion, dedication and a very deep understanding of the Pro/Room relationship," says Jennifer Larson, CEO of Lock. "He has the fierce and fresh entrepreneurial spirit that makes for a very passionate person and a perfect fit for Lock. Jim is exactly what I was looking for to take LockPRO to the next level!"

"The LockPRO team is one of the rare success stories in recent poker years and the opportunity to come and work with this team felt like a calling just too tempting to resist," says Erwood. "The company has made significant strides in the industry & yet we recognize there are many more obstacles to traverse so it is vitally important the LockPRO team are supported in their hard work and efforts to spearhead the Lock Poker movement. People can expect to see exciting developments within the team including a new tier of semi-pros and a dedicated team of LockLIVE pros representing the brand on the live circuit. The challenge is to maximize our current resources, strengthen & ensure that the Lock team continues to evolve, interact and make significant and meaningful impact with the wider poker community."
