Chris Moorman Online Poker Player of The Year

DoylesRoom.com British poker player Chris Moorman (moorman1) has ranked the number one online poker tournament player for 2009 according to the PocketFives.com Rankings.

The rationale for the ranking is provided here:

Chris Moorman (moorman1) is a member of the DoylesRoom Brunson 10, and holds the record for PocketFives Triple Crowns and won the Monthly PLB for April '09. An incredibly consistent player, moorman1 chopped the FTOPS XIII Event #17 ($300+22 NLHE with rebuys) for $204,000 in August '09. He's won several major events, including the Absolute and Full Tilt 1k's and a chop of the Sunday 2nd chance on Stars. He final tabled the Full Tilt $750k Guaranteed in January 2008 for $36,600 and became the #1 ranked online tournament player worldwide in January 2009. His second-largest online cash came in April '09 when he final tabled the PokerStars SCOOP High Stakes Main Event for $113,000. In February '09, he won the PokerStars $100 Sunday rebuy for $88,200.

The world is his oyster as Moorman is just 23 years of age and he actually looks like he is 13 in that photo above.

When asked by PokerVerdict.com What are your golden rules for playing in MTTs back in 2007 when he was really just honing his skills, Moorman responded:

Never be scared to put all your chips in.

Try to really concentrate on the Final Table - play to win, not just to cash.

In the early stages just play hands which have potential so I prefer to play suited connectors on the button to Ace-rag.

You must be hyper-aggressive once you reach the top 50 - you must play as if you're hell-bent on getting into the Top 3 places, which is where all the money is.
