What feels like a strategically planned attempt to infuse some life back into the women's side of the UFC, rumors swirled Monday August 28 that Ronda Rousey is planning a comeback in 2024.

Dana White knows that portion of his product is struggling. With Amanda Nunes out of the picture, and the top current fighters not terribly talented, White sees an opening for putting a belt back on the woman who ruled the UFC for years.

We’ve set odds on who will be Rousey's first opponent, should she return to the octagon. Julianna Pena makes the most sense from a PPV standpoint, so it's not surprise she's the heavy favorite.

Pena recently opted out of a fight with Amanda Nunes that was supposed to have been part of the UFC 289 card on June 10.  Pena suffered broken ribs and was unable to participate.  She took some time to break the news.

"Hi. Wanted to give it a few days before I addressed the situation. I am out of my fight in #vancouver for #ufc289. I am absolutely gutted.  you guys only see us preform on one night but I wish you guys could see the other side of what #fighters have to go through on a daily basis. A fighters life is not an easy road but it’s one that lights my soul on fire. It’s my passion and I do it everyday with my whole heart. I give my everything every time I step into that octagon and I wanted nothing more then to make this fight possible."

"When you look at the full women's scene, the options are slim, but below are the 7 names and odds our crew came up with," BetOnline advised on Tuesday.
