It's not the $100,000 for every $100 bet we saw Mine That Bird potentially paying out following his shocking Kentucky Derby win two weeks ago, but all things considered, this contender still promises a rather hefty payout:  $500 for every $100 bet.

This is Carrie Stroup reporting for Gambling911.com and the latest odds have to win the 2009 Preakness were posted by Sportsbook.com late Wednesday afternoon following the announcement of the post positions and the release of the official Preakness odds, which opened at 6/1.

"Typically there will be better odds found at a few of the online gambling sites for each of the contenders," says Gambling911.com Senior Editor, Payton O'Brien.  "This was the case with all the Kentucky Derby entries.  Gambling911.com will typically provide its readers with the better paying odds compared to the "official" track odds and which online gambling site to find them."

Mine That Bird will start from the No. 2 post position in Saturday's 134th running of the Preakness Stakes. Rachel Alexandra will start from the outside.

Rachel Alexandra immediately was established as 8-5 favorite to be the first filly to win the Preakness since 1924. The last time a filly went to the starting line as Preakness favorite was in 1906.

Sportsbook.com offered the following 2009 Preakness Stakes odds online as of Wednesday evening:
