Crawford is currently listed as ESPN's No. 1 pound-for-pound boxer.  The The Omaha, Nebraska native will be making his 154-pound debut. will move up to 154 pounds to take on Madrimov in a fight confirmed Friday afternoon (April 19) though the official announcement will be made Wednesday during a news conference.

The event will be presented by Riyadh Season under His Excellency Turki Alalshikh, the chair of Saudi Arabia's General Entertainment Authority in association with Sela Sport.

This will be the 36-year-old Crawford's first fight since his ninth-round TKO victory over Errol Spence in July to become the undisputed welterweight champion.  Crawford is undefeated in 40 bouts and 31 of those were won by knockout.

Uzbekistan's Madrimov (10-0-1, 7 KOs) won the WBA title when he scored a fifth-round TKO victory over Magomed Kurbanov last month in Riyadh on the undercard of Joshua-Ngannou.

Following his victory, Madrimov made it clear he's ready to take on a top fighter.

“It’s a great feeling. I’ve been waiting for this moment for a long time. I wanted this title, now I’m here and this belt is mine and I’m going to Uzbekistan. This is my first title, but I want four belts,” he said.

Madrimov has ten wins in eleven fights, seven of which were by KO.

There were plenty of questions regarding whether Madrimov could attract a big name opponent, and they don't come much bigger than Crawford.
