You've probably read all about it.  Mobile sports betting apps are coming to North Carolina.

For now, browser-based internationally licensed sites like BetUS remain your only option.  That's not exactly a bad thing.  BetUS is now celebrating its 30th year in business with 30 risk-free bets.

Lawmakers passed a measure to regulate mobile sports betting (it's already available at three of the state's casinos) and Gov. Cooper signed HB 347 into law at a special ceremony in June 2023.

The NC online sports betting bill stipulates that the law will become effective on Jan. 8, 2024. Regulators must then clear online sportsbooks to launch within 12 months of that date.

This means that the Week 1 game between NC State and Connecticut can only be bet with the internationally licensed sites like BetUS or a local bookie if you happen to know one.  Most offer online betting with extensive options through white label sportsbook platforms.

If you're familiar with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, you'll really love BetUS.  Payments are often made within hours and limits are quite high.

The NC State vs. UConn game is hardly one that has us marking our calendars.  It should be an easy win for the Tar Heels.  They were coming in as a -14 to -15 favorite depending on the sportsbook.  Most had the number at -14.5.

North Carolina State is a big favorite to win OVER 6.5 regular season games in 2023.
