Coach Nick Saban is going back to Jalen Milroe at quarterback, which makes sense given his dual-threat upside. "That guy's a problem, he is so fast," a defensive coordinator who has faced Milroe told me. "You see him take off on film and you're like, 'Oh, he's running away from everybody,' and then you try to track him down with an angle, [and] he's going to pull away from you."
"Milroe needs help, though, as Alabama seemingly lacks an elite receiver and has some challenges on a talented defense. "It's definitely not the same Alabama, that's for sure," an offensive assistant who has faced Alabama said. 'They're talented on defense, still really good, but there's some weaknesses. As an overall deal, it's a little different'."
