Calvin Ayre, a mainstay in the world of online gambling as the founder of Bodog Sports, later evolving into Bovada, these days is focused on blockchain technology, including how gaming can benefit from it.  Ayre currently runs the BSV blockchain-focused website CoinGeek.

We had the pleasure of celebrating Calvin's 50th in Costa Rica, a pirate-themed event at his compound that seems like only yesterday.  It was so raucous that, as legend has it, a member of the online gaming community that attended lost a tooth, and had no idea how. It remains an unsolved mystery...........well not really.

Calvin's 50th birthday party took place just weeks after the dreaded Black Friday indictments of PokerStars, Full Tilt and Absolute Poker.

This time around, Calvin had the misfortune of hitting the milestone of 60 during a global pandemic.  Now that Covid-19 appears to be winding down, or at least its become more managable with vaccinations and treatments, Ayre was finally able to celebrate in London with close friends and associates.

Watch and enjoy the highlights from the celebrations below.
