Can I Place a Bet on the FanDuel App From Arizona

The new FanDuel sports betting app is available to those living in the state of Arizona but only internationally-licensed websites are accessible for real money bets from within the state.  Bookmaker is offering a generous CASH welcome bonus (max bonus $1600).

Will the FanDuel Sports Betting App Be Available to Those in Arizona?

Arizona will require a complete reworking of the state's tribal compact in order for sports betting to be legalized here.

In Arizona, the Legislature could pass a new law or the governor could amend its compact with the tribes to add sports betting as regulated gambling. States with tribal gaming compacts will likely start sports betting at existing casinos and expand from there, said Stephen Hart, a partner with Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP who practices Indian and gaming law.

An interesting side note, Arizona Governor Doug Ducey is the grandson of one of the original offshore sportsbook kingpins, Bill Scott.

Disadvantages to Using the FanDuel Sports Betting App

Even as a Arizona resident, you can still place real money bets on the FanDuel app, but only when visiting the state of New Jersey.  This is the only state that currently offers the app for real money betting.  Once again, sports betting is only accessible online from Arizona via licensed offshore sportsbooks.

The Fanduel sports betting app went live in New Jersey during the last days of August.  It is only available in this state currently. Folks who wish to open a betting account may do so from outside the state but will be unable to bet until they are within New Jersey's borders, this includes Newark International Airport.  Up until recently only internationally-licensed online sportsbook were accessible in the Garden State.

Another disadvantage is the limited device compatibility.  The Fanduel sports betting app is for Android and IOS.

While those 18 or older can play with offshore sportsbooks, FanDuel and its New Jersey-based counterparts require users to be at least 21 in order to place a bet.
