Whitney Fore of Ifrah Law tweeted out late Monday that NFL refs may need to answer to those harmed by what was widely seen as a game-changer that would otherwise have the New Orleans Saints potentially heading to the Super Bowl, not the Rams.

And guess who they'll be answering to?

Fore tweeted:

In an unprecedented move in the US, bettors plan to file a class action against #nfl refs in the Rams-Saints for a non-call that cost bettors big.

The Rams pass interference penalty against the Saints went uncalled by the referees and ultimately resulted in LA heading to the Super Bowl.

Some have gone as far as to suggest NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell should put the Saints and Rams back on the field to replay at least from the point where that non-call took place.

Indeed, a wild rule allows Goodell to reverse the Rams-Saints outcome.  He could even demand that both teams replay the entire game.

"The Commissioner has the sole authority to investigate and take appropriate disciplinary and/or corrective measures if any club action, non-participant interference, or calamity occurs in an NFL game which the Commissioner deems so extraordinarily unfair or outside the accepted tactics encountered in professional football that such action has a major effect on the result of the game."

The odds of this happening are slim to none.
