Why Embiid is Out

• Embiid has a bone bruise on his left knee and will be reevaluated in two weeks, the team announced Saturday.
• An MRI overnight revealed no structural damage to the knee that Embiid hyperextended in a victory over the Washington Wizards on Friday night, according to sources.
• Embiid's ACL and meniscus are fine, sources said, and there's significant relief within the Sixers that the injury isn't something much worse.

The Impact

SportsLine's Mike McClure, a DFS pro with almost $2M in winnings, had Embiid as a top NBA DFS pick for his Friday NBA daily Fantasy lineups.  The Sixers center was priced at $10,700 on DraftKings and $10,700 on FanDuel. Embiid is second in the NBA by scoring 30.2 points per game, and he adds 11.6 rebounds and 3.3 assists per outing. That includes a 40-point, 19-rebound, three-assist outburst March 3 against Utah.  Embiid had just returned to the Wizards game following exposure to Covid-19 that had him sitting out a few games including the NBA All-Star game last weekend.
