Blue Jays-Orioles Game Postponed, Suspended? What Happens to My Bet?
The odds of delays, postponements or even outright suspensions are possible with both the Toronto Blue Jays vs. Baltimore Orioles Tuesday and Wednesday games due to rain in the forecast. Showers were anticipated Tuesday but heavier scattered storms were more likely Wednesday afternoon.
Obviously, when a game is postponed prior to its start, all bets are voided. You'll be sure to hate on your sportsbook after that winning G911 Sports Hub capper pick is coming through only to have the game abbreviated due to rain.
The sticky situation, and one that differs across sportsbooks, is when a game is suspended and at what point this occurs.
Bets are typically voided should the game fail to make it to the 5th inning.
It's important to understand rules vary based on the type of bets. For example, money line wagers require a game to go a full five innings. Totals and prop bets require a full game to play out are usually voided.
Even if a game hits the over prior to a suspension, some books still will not honor the over bet. It is important to check the rules beforehand.
With games deemed as "suspended" things get really confusing depending on where the bet was placed.
Bets may remain in play if the game takes place and is final within 24 to 36 hours of being suspended. DraftKings uses the 36-hour standard. Others require the game to be played later in the same day.
Before placing your baseball bets on Tuesday or Wednesday's Blue Jays vs. Orioles games, make sure you monitor the weather forecast first. Things can certainly change as game time approaches.
Blue Jays @ Orioles Series Preview
Baltimore Orioles career statistics vs. Jose Berrio have been pretty good (.291).
James McCann has four of the 11 home runs but has struggled so far this season. Adley Rutshman is dangerous against Berrio and has been solid this season. He's 10 of 16 in hitting with one home run and two RBIs.
Berríos allowed eight runs on seven hits in 3 2/3 innings in a loss to the Phillies on Tuesday but just two runs each in his prior two starts.
Alert! The Blue Jays have had very little success versus Corbin Burnes in a decent enough sampling of 42 at bats. He's allowed just 8 hits from this current roster.
Burnes allowed five hits and three earned runs over 6 1/3 innings in Tuesday’s loss to the Nationals. He logged a quality start prior to that but does not have a win over his last three starts.
We anticipate Burnes (3-2, 2.83 ERA) to have a good outing here or my name isn't Mary Montgomery.
It also helps that Baltimore is 7-3 in their last ten meetings versus Toronto.
Wednesday Game
If we can get Wednesday's game off, Cole Irvin is .188 versus the current Blue Jays roster in a sizeable sampling of 69 at bats. The price may be a little high.
Irvin (4-1, 2.90 ERA) allowed two runs Friday in the Orioles’ 4-2 victory over the Diamondbacks.
Yusei Kikuchi starts for Toronto. He's 2-3 with a respectable 2.64 ERA.
He's coming off a tough loss Friday after limiting the Twins to two runs over eight innings. Kikuch had a no-decision prior to that. In fact, Kikuch hasn't had a win in three so the Under might be something to consider for this Wednesday game. Six of the last ten have seen no more than 7 runs scored in this series.
