Priced at $7700, Happ has been phenomenal up to this point and we do not recommend targeting batters against him Saturday versus the A's. He's a good pick Saturday too, having gone 3-0 while yielding just one homer in seven appearances (35 2/3 innings) against Oakland.
For gamblers, we liked the UNDER 8.5 here with opposing pitcher Chris Bassitt having allowed a mere two earned runs and eight hits in his last two trips to the mound.
The UNDER is 11-3 in the last fourteen meetings of this series and 6-2 in Toronto. The UNDER is also 8-1 in TOR last 9 overall.

Priced at $7700, we warned against playing him Wednesday night while suggesting the Yankees right-handed batters were mostly all a go and, sure enough, the Yankees managed to get ten hits and two runs in this one.
Coming into Monday versus the Red Sox, Happ has permitted 14 hits and four walks in just 12 innings of work, while only allowing two runners to score.
Oddsmakers had a 9.5 total on this game though the UNDER is 9-2 in Boston's last 11 home games.
The Blue Jays are 0-6 in Happ’s last 6 road starts though he allowed just five hits and one run scored in seven innings the last time he faced Boston.
HOT TRENDS
Consider a bet on the OVER in games when Happ is playing at home though his road record suggests a lot of scoring as well. Rotogrinders points out that his 6.00 K/9 and 3.00 BB/9 isn't a good combination for a non-ground-ball pitcher in a hitter-friendly ballpark.
April 17 -
Rotogrinders posted the following analysis:
J.A. Happ posted an impressive K/9 of 10.51 last year against lefties, but against righties his K/9 decreased to 7.01. An even more alarming split shows his K% against lefties (27.6%) compared to righties (18.8%). Coupled with the hitter friendly environment of the Rogers Centre, Aaron Hicks (career .351 wOBA & 123 wRC+ against lefties) and Alex Rodriguez (.269 IS0, .389 wOBA, and 148 wRC+ against lefties in 2015) serve as under-the-radar options in all formats.
Did we mention, the Blue Jays are 3-9 in Happ’s last 12 starts.
Happ has not been entirely bad versus the Yankees.
Take the OVER 8 here. This one did go OVER with 9 runs scored.
