NBA Fantasy Watch:

Paul could sit with sore knee

Chris Paul, PG, LAC

News: Clippers guard Chris Paul is being listed as questionable for Tuesday's contest against the Mavericks due to a sore left knee. Paul, who missed nine games earlier in the year with a bruised right knee cap, was briefly forced to leave Los Angeles' win over the Nets last Saturday night after being hit on the side of his left knee. "I think he will be able to play, but I don't know if he will play and have a setback or how effective will he be," coach Vinny Del Negro told the Orange County Register.

Analysis: Paul went on to drop 29 points and 11 assists on the Nets after briefly leaving the contest, but his knee began to swell up on him over the last few days. While Paul looks to be medically able to play, it sounds like Del Negro is thinking of sitting him down as a precaution. The Clippers are slated to play four times this week, so owners could still wind up getting three games out of Paul, assuming he returns by Wednesday. The 27-year-old is putting up 20.6 points, 10.4 assists, 4.6 rebounds and 2.8 steals over his last five games and can be considered a must-start option whenever he steps on the court.

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
