Tim Donaghy, the NBA referee who served time for betting on games while he was officiating, will be a special guest on Vegas Insider Radio tonight Thursday May 12, 2011.

Donaghy was a ref for 772 NBA regular season games and another 20 in the postseason.

“We plan on picking Tim Donaghy’s brain with his opinions on tonight’s game in Atlanta and Saturday’s Game 6 back in Memphis. Also, we’ll touch on the Heat and Mavs, in addition to the demise of the Lakers and Celtics,” VegasInsider.com said.

Tim Donaghy has recently written a book that touches on all things NBA, including a run-in with Rasheed Wallace and being one of the officials during the infamous Pacers-Pistons brawl back in 2004. Donaghy’s book, Personal Foul: A First-Person Account of the Scandal that Rocked the NBA, is a must-get for all hardcore NBA fans and those that like to make the occasional wager.

If you can’t listen live at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, then make sure to check out our archive page that’ll be updated later tonight.

Basketball Odds News

Grizzlies vs. Bucks Betting Preview - February 2

AcePerHeads odds feed has Memphis seeing 65% of the initial spread action with the number at -3 while other books were reporting 70% or greater action on the Celtics, so we have a mixed bag.

Ohio State vs. Illinois Betting Preview

The line on the Ohio State vs. Illinois game has dipped from -6 to -5 but with 70% of the money on the Buckeyes, according to the AcePerHead odds feed, so this trend does make some degree of sense.
