Heat, Thunder, Spurs, Nuggets Fantasy Picks, Salaries - January 20: Latest Lines

The lines on these games had the Thunder as -7.5 favorites and the Spurs at -8.

Today we are looking at some Fantasy picks and salaries for four NBA teams as they were the only franchises playing on Tuesday (January 20).

Doug Norrie of DailyFantasySportsPicks.com summed it up best for January 20’s matchups between these four teams:

This is a totally brutal slate. You have the Spurs and Nuggets who jack their guys minutes around like crazy (albeit for different reasons), the Thunder who have two top end guys and a bunch of spare parts, and the Heat who don't have much that you feel safe playing. If you were ever going to take a night off, this might be the one to do it.

The value is definitely lacking.

Westbrook is solid and he can put up the Fantasy points but at what price?

He would really need something approaching 45 Fantasy points per night (or 4x his value) to have a positive effect.  Sunday against Orlando he didn’t even come close.

Kevin Durant did produce but both these players will essentially be draining each other depending on the night.

Oklahoma City Thunder:

Steven Adams ($4.1K) – Injured his ankle the other night.  Didn’t produce much.

Andre Roberson ($3K) – Andre Roberson scored double-digit points on Sunday for the first time since Dec. 19.  Not a good choice most nights.  He needs to make 6x his value or around 18 Fantasy points per night and he just barely did that against Orlando.

Serge Ibaka ($6.9K) – He needs upwards of 30 Fantasy points per night right now.  Ibaka's 1.4 triples per game are easily a career high and coach Scott Brooks has given him a green light, adding a valuable new facet to his fantasy game.  Owners can pencil him in for top-20 value the rest of the season, RotoWorld advises.

Kevin Durant ($10.7K) – He scored a team-high 21 points on 7-of-10 FGs and 7-of-7 FTs, with 11 rebounds and eight assists.

Russell Westbrook ($10.2K) – In addition to the steep price, owners also need to be concerned over the technical he’s drawing.

Miami Heat:

Chris Bosh ($8.4K) – He had over 40 Fantasy points against Sacramento the other night.  Bosh should perform well against weak defensive teams and provide value at the current price.

Dwyane Wade ($8.3K) – Has been injured but due to start playing perhaps as early as Tonight (January 20).

Luol Deng ($6K) – Deng scored 25 points on 11-of-18 shooting with six rebounds, four assists, two steals, two blocks and two 3-pointers in Friday's road win over the Kings, providing more than enough value.

Mario Chalmers ($4.6K)

Hassan Whiteside ($5.5K)

San Antonio Spurs:

Kawhi Leonard ($7.4K) – In his 22 previous games this season, Leonard averaged 15.2 points, 7.6 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals, so there is value here.

Danny Green ($5.5K)

Tiago Splitter ($3.9K)

Tim Duncan ($8.5K) – If Duncan plays his 30 minutes, you should be good.  The problem being, San Antonio will tend to sit their key players in blowouts.  Denver has managed to keep recent games close with the exception of one so Duncan could prove to offer some value against the Nuggets January 20.

Tony Parker ($5.8K)

Denver Nuggets:

Arron Afflalo ($6K) – Afflalo finished with just two points (1-8 FG, 0-3 3Pt) in 24 minutes against the Warriors on Monday.  That won’t cut it.

Wilson Chandler ($5.6K)

Ty Lawson ($8.9K) – Ty Lawson scored more than the other four Nuggets starters combined during a 122-79 loss to the Warriors the other night, with 19 points, one rebound and six assists.  And he still didn’t quite reach value.

Kenneth Faried ($7.4K)

Jusuf Nurkic ($5K)

Sixers? Knicks? Who Can Challenge Boston in the East this Season?

As the new NBA season gets underway, there is most certainly a sense that the Boston Celtics are the team to beat once again. The 18-time champions really took an “if it’s not broken, don’t try to fix it” policy in the offseason, and it’s hard to argue with the tactic.
