Phoenix Suns vs. Dallas Mavericks betting odds opened at Dallas -4 ½ and have remained there just about everywhere including SBG Global.

Wednesday, 9:05 pm Eastern - ESPN

The Phoenix Suns and Dallas Mavericks meet for the third time this NBA betting season on Wednesday in a game that can be seen on ESPN.  The Mavericks have won six of the last nine against the Suns but they did lose the last meeting in Phoenix 112-106 late last month.  The last time the teams played in Dallas it was a good one as the Mavericks pulled out a 102-101 win.

The Mavericks definitely have a different look now that Caron Butler is on the team.  He adds another scoring option for Dallas that could make them more of a threat in the Western Conference playoffs. The Mavericks also got Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson in the trade with Washington that sent Josh Howard and Drew Gooden to the Wizards. "This gives us a real chance to do some damage in the West,'' said Donnie Nelson, the Mavericks' president of basketball betting operations, "It's like a nuclear arms race out here. From top to bottom, there's 11 that look like they're viable and eight that are going to make it. But we feel [the trade] gives us a real chance to take this next step."

The Suns may be making changes as well as Amare Stoudemire has been mentioned in trade rumors and with the trading deadline on Thursday, it could be he is moved. "You know, we'll find out," head coach Alvin Gentry said, "Regardless of what happens, we've got to move forward. If Amar'e is here, that would be great. The guy has played great basketball for us."

The Suns are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games. The Suns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. the Western Conference. The Suns are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Southwest.  The Suns are 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games playing on no rest.

The Mavericks are 7-19 ATS in their last 26 games overall. The Mavericks are 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games playing on no rest. The Mavericks are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 vs. the Pacific. The Mavericks are 5-21 ATS in their last 26 home games.

The Over is 6-1 in the Suns last 7 vs. the Southwest. The Over is 13-6 in the Suns last 19 games playing on no rest. The Over is 4-1 in the Mavericks last 5 home games. The Over is 7-3 in the Mavericks last 10 games playing on no rest. The Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings between the two teams.
