Some Strange Occurrences at Full Tilt Poker: All Systems Currently Operational

A frenzy of activity is taking place over on the Full Tilt Poker website, not that it matters much when players are waiting more than a year to get paid.

A systems status report featured a green light with the message:  “all systems are currently operational”.

Investors Unnerved by Playtech Planned Acquisitions: Shares Fall

(Reuters) - Playtech, the world's biggest provider of online gaming software, plans a string of acquisitions as it branches out into the social gaming market but news that it will be buying the businesses from its main shareholder unnerved investors.

The Estonia-based firm said on Tuesday that it planned to spend 95 million euros ($124.1 million) buying assets owned by Israeli billionaire Teddy Sagi who founded Playtech and still owns a 48 percent stake in the company.

Purple Lounge Parent Media Corp Looks to Acquire The Poker Channel

Media Corp, parent company to the popular online gambling venue Purple Lounge, is looking to take over The Poker Channel parent company Gaming Media Group (GMG), it was reported on Tuesday. 

Media Corp suspended its shares and issued a statement to the London Stock Exchange Tuesday morning upon announcing its plans.

The Poker Channel launched in 2005 and is seen in the United Kingdom and across 30 territories with a reach of 30 million subscribers.  Most recently, the channel signed on to air programming in France, Mexico and Argentina.

Nevada Gambling Revenues Up 5.7 Percent in February: Online Poker Traffic Sees Gain

Good news for both the Las Vegas gambling and online poker sectors as both reported gains.

Gaming Control Board officials announced on Tuesday that Nevada gambling revenues were up 5.7 percent with Las Vegas Strip casinos seeing a 3.3 percent surge. 

Overall revenue generated included $932 million in the state and $531 million from the Vegas Strip casinos.

The disastrous Epic Poker League is sinking faster than the Titanic, minus the life rafts.

CardPlayer.com reports that EPL’s parent company’s bankruptcy filing lists liabilities of $8 million, not the $5 million previously asserted

The company managed to earn just $37,052 in income over a 14 month period while racking up $7,892,242 in total liabilities, CardPlayer.com noted.

Manitoba Launches Online Gambling Venture

BCLC set off on a new course for its online business today, announcing that it is partnering with Manitoba Lotteries to provide online gambling to Manitobans.

With Amaya Gaming assuming 81 percent of troubled Cryptologic’s issued shares, CEO David Gayagan has resigned as has CFO Huw Spiers, general counsel Nick Catros and two other board members. 

Amaya CEO/President David Baazoy is slated to take over Gavagan’s position effective immediately.

Rock Gaming of Ohio Invests $60.8 Million Into Caesars Internet Poker Arm
