One of the powerhouses in daily fantasy sports, DraftKings, is reported to be close to an exclusive sponsorship deal with the UFC (Ultimate Fighting Championship).

Colin Neville, vice president of the venture capital firm The Raine Group in NYC, first disclosed the pending UFC deal during a conference in New York City on Monday.

Kevin Farlow, senior director of marketing partnerships, tells BizJournals.com the one-year deal involves prominent DraftKings signage at events.

DraftKings, the 2nd largest daily fantasy sports operator after Scotland-based FanDuel.com, has already entered into prominent sponsorship deals with the New England Patriots, Golden State Warriors and Pittsburgh Steelers among others.  Last month, DraftKings reported $30 million in revenue.

Since 2006, fantasy sports has grown from USD $1.6 billion industry to a USD $15+ billion industry, with much of that growth occurring over the past year through daily fantasy sports, according to Ticonderoga Ventures, Inc, the group behind the upcoming Miami Beach daily fantasy sports industry conference FantasySportsExpo.com.

This story is developing with more to come.
