Odds to Win Best Picture – 2014 Oscars: ’12 Years a Slave’ vs. Field
Odds to win the Best Picture for the 2014 Oscars had only two films offered up for betting at Bookmaker: “12 Years a Slave” and the Field (which is all other films in the category).
It is becoming more clear that “12 Years a Slave” is likely to win this year’s Oscar.
At -304, the odds are not only good this will happen, the value is good for gamblers where Oscar betting is concerned. A $30 bet pays $10 (the $30 refunded on top of that of course). A $60 bet pays $20 and so on.
“12 Years a Slave” tells the story takes place in pre-Civil War United States where Solomon Northup, a free black man from upstate New York, is abducted and sold into slavery. Facing cruelty at the hands of a malevolent slave owner, as well as unexpected kindnesses, Solomon struggles not only to stay alive, but to retain his dignity.
At other books, only “Gravity” comes close to “12 Years a Slave” in terms of odds. “Gravity” is listed at 4/1 odds at some books.
