Another NFL Player Injured in Freak Fireworks Accident: Bucs C.J. Wilson

(Gambling911.com Sports Wire) - Tampa Bay Bucs cornerback C.J. Wilson was reportedly injured in a fireworks accident this past 4th of July weekend.  An injury to his hand is said to be “significant”.

"We are aware that C.J. was involved in an accident that occurred over the July 4th holiday," the team said in a statement. "It is our understanding that the injury occurred to one of his hands, and our primary concern at this moment is for his long-term health. We have been in contact with C.J. and are continuing to monitor the situation."

Wilson is the second NFL star to have been injured by fireworks over the weekend.

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul also suffered injuries to his hand following a fireworks mishap.  He is potentially still facing charges for possession of illegal fireworks in the state of Florida.  Paul, a two-time Pro Bowler, may not be re-signed with the Giants as a result though his injuries do not appear to be career ending.

Wilson appeared in two games for Tampa Bay last year, playing mostly on special teams and recording four tackles.  His future is not likely to have much of an impact on Bucs future bets.  Wilson is not viewed as a viable Fantasy player.
