Bookies Worst Nightmare: Utes, Falcons, Panthers

Heading into this weekend’s football slate, bookies worried most about covers by the Utah Utes in College Football and the Atlanta Falcons in the NFL.

“These are by far the single most dangerous games on this weekend’s slate,” noted Don Shapiro of Gambling911.com.  “At one point Atlanta was seeing better than 90% of the action as a -6 road favorite against Tennessee.  Utah was seeing 70% at +6.5 though this game had substantial amount of volume heading into Saturday.”

The Utah vs. USC game is a most interesting case study in that the line had jumped from -3.5 to -6.5 over the course of the week as an obvious enticement to get even more action on the Utes.  Watch for the Trojans to cover in this game.

The Trojans defeated Utah for three consecutive seasons before the Utes upset USC in the final seconds last season in Salt Lake City.

Elsewhere, Carolina will leave the books exposed in Monday Night Football against Philadelphia.  The Panthers, a -3 home favorite, were seeing 70% of the action in this game.

As of Saturday morning, the only line movement we could find was with a few of the recreational books moving up to -3.5.  Otherwise, the number remained steady at -3.

Bookies across the globe have wised up to the utilization of Pay Per Head outsourcing as a means of diminishing losses through live in-play wagering, propositions and online casino games, all of which have a proven record of boosting the profit margin for bookmaking businesses.  Check out HostPPH.com for more details here.
