The Champs Sports Bowl featuring North Carolina State vs. West Virginia had a spread of -2.5, slowly creeping towards -3.  The line originally opened at -2.  West Virginia is favored in this game.  Nearly 70 percent of those betting the spread were on The Mountaineers and that same amount was on the money line.  Even action was on the total of 48.5.

Scout Inc. had this to say about the Champs Sports Bowl game, giving the nod to North Carolina State:

Expect NC State to be motivated in just its second bowl appearance under coach Tom O'Brien. The Wolfpack defense should be able to slow the Mountaineers on the ground and the secondary should be more sound after plenty of preparation and practice. On the other side of the ball, Wilson will make enough plays with his arm and legs to pull out the victory.

Let’s check out some crucial North Carolina State vs. West Virginia trends below:

The Wolfpack is 4-0 Against The Spread in their last 4 games following a Straight Up loss.

The Wolfpack are 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 games as an underdog.

The Wolfpack are 21-8-1 ATS in their last 30 games on grass.

The Mountaineers are 7-1 ATS vs. a team with a winning record.

The Mountaineers are just 4-12 ATS in their last 16 vs. the ACC.

The Mountaineers have not performed particularly well Against The Spread in Bowl games, winning just 2.

West Virginia is 2-7-1 ATS in their last 10 games following a SU win of more than 20 points.

The Mountaineers are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 Bowl games as a favorite.

There is a slight edge coming into this game for North Carolina State.

This will be the first meeting between these schools since North Carolina State's 38-14 win Sept. 22, 1979.
