ESPN.com points out that the winner of the past two matchups has gone on to win the national title, though both of those instances came in the SEC championship game.

"It's definitely one of the most anticipated games of my career," Florida defensive end Justin Trattou said on Monday. "It's definitely one of the most anticipated games in the country. I'm real excited to get into it."

The Scouts Preview points out that Florida's offense gained momentum in Week 4 but will be facing a much bigger challenge against Alabama in Week 5.  It gives the Crimson Tide a 6 point edge here, but that won’t cover the current spread.

80 percent of the online sportsbooks had this one at Florida +8.  A handful had the spread as high as +8 ½.  This one opened at Alabama -9.   Most of the Vegas books were holding at -8.
