Indianapolis Colts, New Orleans Saints Perfect Season Odds
Sportsbook.com has just released odds on both the Indianapolis Colts and New Orleans Saints having a perfect season.
This past weekend some believed one or both these teams would finally lose a game considering the caliber of their respective opponents. That didn't happen.
Peyton Manning turned a 43-yard pass interference penalty against Houston in the third quarter into a turning point for himself and the Colts.
The Colts became the second team in NFL history to win 20 straight regular-season games. They are one shy of the Patriots' streak from 2006-08 for the longest in NFL history. They are also the first team to enjoy 11 or more wins over 7 consecutive seasons.
"We don't get overexcited certainly when things aren't going the way we want them to," Quarterback Peyton Manning said. "We don't panic, we don't yell, we don't throw helmets. We just try to put the series behind us and move on to the next one. There was a lot of that [Sunday]."
Meanwhile, the New Orleans Saints manhandled the New England Patriots Monday night as a mere -1 ½ favorite. This was expected to be more competitive. It was not.
The Saints became the 14th team in league history to start 11-0 as Drew Brees threw for 371 yards and five TDs, the most TD passes ever against a team coached by Bill Belichick.
New Orleans beat New England by a score of 38-17, something very few pundits expected.
